About NEC Display Firmware Update Tool

The NEC Display Firmware Update Tool is a utility to assist with updating the firmware in large-screen Sharp and NEC LCD displays and some models of desktop NEC LCD displays.

Main features:

This application always downloads the latest version of firmware for each display. If it is ever necessary to revert to an older version of firmware, it must be performed manually via a web browser.

Support has been added for the latest generation of Sharp large-screen displays.

 

Supported Operating Systems

This version of NEC Display Firmware Update Tool is supported on 32 and 64 bit versions of Microsoft Windows: 8 / 8.1 / 10 / 11

Installing NEC Display Firmware Update Tool requires an account with administrator privileges.

 

Required LAN Ports

The following ports are required in order to access and update a display:

  • TCP port 80
  • TCP port 7142
  • UDP port 5320
  • Please make sure that network firewalls, routers etc. do not block these ports.

     

    Supported Display Monitors

    NEC Display Firmware Update Tool supports most recent large-screen display models. Support for a detected display will be shown within the application.

     

    Support and Troubleshooting

    Please follow the instructions in the application.

    The latest models of Sharp large-screen displays support two different communications protocols: N-Format (NEC) and S-Format (Sharp). The display must have N-Format selected.

    For models that support enabling and disabling of individual Network Protocols, the following protocols must be enabled:

  • PC Control
  • Monitor Control via Network
  • HTTP
